Soaring careers in aviation. Sustainable building for the future. Life-changing health care roles. The social sciences that help us understand and better our world. The trades that keep our province and country running. Business skills for the leaders of today and tomorrow. Upgrading that opens doors to new career paths. How to apply and finance your education. All this and more will await guests to AV’s Kelowna campus Open House this weekend.

AV is opening its doors to the community on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. for a unique event designed to help spark inspiration, answer questions and make the path to post-secondary even more accessible for prospective students, friends and family. The event is free and open to the public.

Attendees can expect to learn about the ins and outs of their programs of choice, from information about pre-requisites and admission to the careers and pathways that await graduates locally and globally.

In addition to representatives from the College’s portfolios (faculties) and departments, attendees will also have a chance to meet and ask questions of OC’s President, Dr. Neil Fassina. He will be on hand to personally welcome prospective students and share his perspective on the changing face of post-secondary.

We are so excited to welcome the community to experience Okanagan College on Saturday,” says Fassina. “This is an invaluable opportunity for individuals to interact with our brilliant instructional teams, to see first-hand the learning environments and settings that they’ll encounter at OC, and to have the questions answered that will help make for a smooth transition to College.”

Adds Fassina: “At OC our mission is to transform lives and communities, and events like Open House are a chance to better understand what is so unique about the College experience and what it can mean for your future. We want people to know: whatever your pathway, there is a place for you at OC. Whether you are new to post-secondary or returning to the classroom, we want to be your life-long learning partner and we hope people come away from this event inspired about their future and the possibilities ahead.”
